Baldy pig was the first toy Mommy got me. It used to be hers but she was nice enough to pass it to me. Since then, Mommy and Daddy have showered me with many more toys but Baldy pig remains my favorite.
I enjoy fetching Baldy pig after daddy hurls it a long distance. I feel pumped up when I do so! I also enjoy locking my jaw on the pig and test myself against Mommy by not letting go when she wants it back. She’s teaching me how to “give” the toy back. I think I’m supposed to let loose my grip when she says that. I’m still trying to understand that command.
In my free time, I also enjoy chewing on Baldy pig.
I was tagged by Copper to share 8 facts about myself. So here goes!
1. I will bring my toy and sit near Mommy & Daddy to induce them to play with me
2. I like to put small things that I find on the floor into my mouth. Mommy would go :” Reina! What are you eating!!!” and Daddy would run over and ply open my mouth to check. :S
3. I love digging, but there isn’t really much for me to dig at home. For now, I’ll resort to digging mummy’s belly button
4. I am a Mob/Mafia/Gangster dog because i growl at anyone that has intentions of snatching my toys. The growl intensifies especially when I’m biting on the toy.
5. I am not a Mob/Mafia/Gangster dog because I whine and cry when I’m left alone and don’t see Mommy and Daddy around.
6. When mommy or daddy closes the door and leaves the room, I will sit by the door and wait till they return. But if they take too long…..(refer to fact no. 5)
7. Chasing and pouncing on fast moving mops, brooms and cloths is one of my favorite past time.
8. Sometimes, I would go on a mad dash in the room. High speed in a self designed obstacle course. Under the chair, over daddy’s lap, through the table, to the door and back to where we started. This never fails to amuse daddy and mommy.
Since most of my friends have already been tagged to share, I tag Nachos to share 8 facts about herself!
Mummy & Daddy brought me out to visit Dom again! Dom is my Mummy’s Sister’s doggie. I was kinda looking forward to meeting Dom again because the last time i met him, i was still very tiny. Now that i have grown a little, i think i can take on this tough guy 4 times my weight!
Once i arrived, i was down to action! Dom didn’t take long to get into the playing grove either. In no time, our enthusiasm on display reached such a high that either one of us had to be restrained. Heres a picture of me taunting Dom while he was being held back by his mummy! Daddy & Mummy commented that i am a gangster girl because i barked at Dom and was always trying to taunt him. I say come on…. that’s how dogs play, and it was all in the name of fun! =P
I got to meet my Mummy’s cute nephews!
Here is one that totally DIGS me! He loves me and i think he is really cute!
Now… this one… he is really weird & amusing. He goes “AHYA” and go bonkers when i go near him.
Heres a clip of him running away from me & Dom
LAMB!!! Girl Girl got to take a picture with a little lamb, so heres one of me on it!
I can’t wait for the next weekend to come already!!!!!!!!!
Oh Oh! Mummy & Daddy went to Ikea the other day and guess what they came home with?
TADA!
This is the inside of my Room! Doesn’t it resemble a King size bed!
Last Friday, Mummy had to work late. So Daddy brought me along to fetch Mummy from work. She was having dinner with her bosses at One Fullerton.
Singapore is a really beautiful city, espcially at night!
Here is the merlion.
Ok, i am supposed to be in the picture but i guess its too dark to spot me
Whats a merlion you ask…
The merlion is a statue with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Its name comes from a pormanteau of mermaid and lion. the lion head and fish body of the creature recalls the story of the legendary Sang Nila Utama , who saw a lion while hunting on an island, en route to Malacca . The island eventually became the sea port of Temasek , a precursor to Singapore.
Heres a picture of an outline of me by the river overlooking to Marina.

Today, i went to Nachos’s House. Nachos’s mum is a good fren of my mummy. We had LOTS of fun!
This is Nachos. Although Big in size… she really is a sweetheart!~
This is me, very eager to play!
And please meet Slurpee…. she is the discipline mistress of the house. Keeps following me where ever i go! *urgh*
All ready to play!~
Mummy & Friend trying their best to get a group photo of us!~
One reason why i love going to Nachos’s place? Her mum bakes human grade treats!!! IT IS SO YUMMY! She is such a great chef! Oh i can’t wait to go her house again!
Pippin shared with me a site where Dachshunds belonging to this club are HUNTERS. Wow, looking at this site, i am really proud to be a Dachshund. Confidence level at a all high! hahaha
Mummy told me on my first day at home that i am a German Breed that hunts for badgers.
Now i am reminded by my Dachies friends from Dachies rule of my distinguished ancestry.
Guten Abend!
All & all, i think all dogs, regardless of breed, are LOVABLE! It is no wonder our hoomans adore us sooooo sooooo much! Those who don’t, they have no idea what they are missing out *wink*
As much as i want to see Nachos, i am really scared of meeting Slurpee again…. she is very fierce :S
Pippin mentioned in her comment that dachshunds in europe are used to track and hunt. Does this explain why i like to dig almost anything? Also, i like to keep my head down and sniff from one end of the room to the other. We are H.U.N.T.E.R.S!
Its Friday today! It means i will get the FULL attention from my mummy & daddy for the next two days! Weeeheeee~
Today, I had an unpleasant encounter with a peer. A hooman, like what my friend Luckie would call them, to be exact. Let’s just call this hooman, Mr X.
I’ve seen Mr X before but today was the first time that I was formally introduced to him. Because mommy told him that I was adopted, he jumps to conclusion and starts implying on how bad my natural mom was to abandon me at such a young age. I was like HELLO…I was never abandoned! Was not and never will be! Mommy was kind enough to explain the actual story. I was like Ok, to be fair, he may not have known the actual story.
Then, he goes on to call me a cheapskate dog! aka no value dog!He basically referred the entire dachshund breed to be cheapskate! He goes on to explain why and it’s because our mommies give birth to huge litters of puppies. How infuriating! Tell me fellow dachies, are we a cheapskate breed????
He goes on to say how common our breed is and that we can be easily found on the streets. Helloooo….seriously, I don’t even think he knows that I’m a dachshund and for that matter what a dachshund really looks like. *Can you feel the steam coming out of my ears!*
Daddy felt insulted for me. Mommy advised us to forget about what Mr X commented. But how can I! This hooman obviously is ignorant and has absolutely no idea what he was talking about! How I hope I will have the chance to leave him a “nice, warm welcome” on his lap someday.
Anyway, daddy and mommy have since gone on to reassure me that no matter what others say, I will always be the most valuable in their eyes, purely because I’m Reina, their princess, regardless of breed or anything else.
Today, daddy brought me to the vet for my first round of vaccinations. Everyone tells me that the jabs are neccessary and good for me, so well I guess I had to go through with it even though I was so afraid of the vet and the needles!
I was shivering throughout the wait. Thankfully, daddy was there hugging me throughout. It really did help calm my nerves a little! When it was my turn , I took a deep breath and braced myself for what I knew was going to happen. I swear I wanted to jumped off the table when I saw the syringe in the vet’s hand. But of course I did not. Heh.
I squirmed when I felt the needle through my skin but thankfully it lasted no more than 2 seconds. The jab made me feel sleepy though as I slept throughout the journey home!
Oh, I have to mention that the vet says I’m growing well and since the last visit, I have put on 0.5 kg. (Now I’m 2 kg)
My next round of vaccinations will be in 3-4 weeks time. It’s not something I’m totally looking forward to. But well, at least for now, no more jabs! And I’m healthy and protected. Yay!
I read from my new friend Pippin’s blog on how close he was to nature and how he could run around in the wild. It’s awesome. But for me, it’s a different situation. Where I come from, there’s very little wild forests for me to hang out at. It’s a city area where there are more concrete walls than green fields.
But still, I’m happy. Besides, I know I’ve still got those natural predatory instincts in me. Just look at how I chase and pounce when daddy’s mopping the floor. =P
